Elode 8,093 Posted January 6, 2015 @@jeandisanti Well carbs can def move the scale up! As far as swelling is it all over ? Feet? Stomach?
scstxrn 213 Posted January 6, 2015 I can't tell how old you are from your profile - but if you're having trouble breathing when you lay down, swelling can be a sign of heart disease, can also be worsened by medications like beta blockers or ace inhibitors - can also be a sign of decreased kidney function... but it's probably a sign that... You've added bread. The same 8 lbs you lose in the first week of a low carb diet - you gain in the first week off. I'd follow up with the doc if you have any other symptoms or if the gain continues, otherwise cut the carbs and increase the Water.

Dabliss111114 180 Posted January 7, 2015 I've heard that adding too many carbs too soon can cause you to hold Fluid in your intestines because they tend to swell up and not move through too well. Maybe you're bloated and constipated. Quite a few of us have had trouble with that. Maybe try a mild laxative and see if that helps. I'd call the doc if things didn't improve after a day or so. Keep us posted.
