jeniker3 19 Posted January 5, 2015 I've been recently told I would have to do a 6 month supervised diet prior to insurance approving the surgery. Please list a good diet plan to follow, or what has worked for you so far. Thank you

prairie 34 Posted January 5, 2015 In order for insurance to consider the diet 'supervised" you need to work with a nutritionist, dietician, or be a part of some program like weight watchers. You can't just do something on your own. My surgeon has a dietitian that i met with 1x/month for 6 months. It was more about learning how to eat and moving in the direction I will need to be post-surgery than following an actual diet plan.
jeniker3 19 Posted January 5, 2015 I see. I'll ask my surgeon if he has something like that. My first appointment is January 7th. That would be easier for me.
Seahawkgirl 129 Posted January 18, 2015 I had my first nutritionist appt on January 5th. I have to do 6th monthly visits with her before I can submit for insurance approval. I've been using the myfitnesspal ap and had really good luck with it.
