Opinions On Chike Nutrition Shakes?

Recommended Posts

My friend in TX used Chike Protein shakes in 2013 after her WLS. Thought I would ask here to see if anyone else had opinions prior to ordering their sample pack. I have powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury samples being delivered today.

I love them! I use a half serving to make my Protein Shakes because otherwise the calories and carbs are too high for my plan. Then I add in some additional flavorings to make up for half the Protein Powder being missing. For example, I use their coffee Protein powder just about every morning -- I make it with one scoop (their standard serving is two scoops), add in a couple teaspoons of instant coffee granules, and mix with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. If you have a Kroger near you, you may want to look into their CarbMaster milks - also really good to mix with shakes, fewer calories and carbs and a lot more protein than regular skim milk.

samples came to me a while back. The orange is really good! Not a fan of their chocolate though. Premier Protein's chocolate shakes are so much better.

I agree that Premier Protein chocolate is better than chike chocolate. BUT the chike coffee flavor is my all-time favorite. I highly recommend it!

I have a whole container of the Chike Mocha. I had one scoop of it a few months ago and it made me feel horrible for a whole day. I am too scared to try it again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
