I've had small bites here and there. I generally try to avoid it. I've had no issues with what I have eaten.

I haven't had any yet even though my nutritionist says I can. I have a long way to go and a lot of weight to lose. I'm not missing it yet so I'd rather wait until I'm closer to maintenance.

No bread for me! I'm staying away from bread, potatoes and rice for now. I may slowly introduce them when I'm in maintenance, but for now I don't need those carbs hindering my weight loss.

I didn't have bread until I met goal (about 6 months out). Even now I only eat a few pita chips or make a sandwich using 1/2 sandwich thin a couple times/month. I've had subway a couple times and I remove the top half of the bun and can eat about 1/2 of a 6" sub. I love Bagels and French bread but haven't had either in over a year. I know they are just a waste of limited tummy space with little nutritional value.

I am 9 weeks post op and have NOT had bread and although I have a desire for it (like a tuna sandwich or BLT), I am being good about staying away from it.

I'm 8 weeks post op, I had half a roll on Christmas with no bad effects. However, I'm really not craving bread yet, so no reason to worry about it!

I haven't had surgery yet but I don't think I ever want to eat bread! I have a problem with bread already as a "big stomach" person, lol...so I could just imagine eating it after having gastric sleeve surgery. Wheww wee that's a nightmare I don't want to come true!!!! Lol

I tolerated toast early on in the game. 1/2 slice. As what others have said, there are so many other yummy things to eat, that are much healthier, so I just avoid it. I noticed that dry and crunchy is a slider food for me so I really should try to make peace with abstinence.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
