I am a cook by profession (actually a pastry chef...I know, crazy, isnt it?) and love to cook. I am one week after surgery and still eating all this liquiod stuff, and can't wait to start cooking! I have been looking online and bookstores for some decent cookbooks, and have found some great blogs, but I really would like a good cookbook or two. I have several issues, not only the sleeve, but I cannot eat carbs or sugar AT ALL because of a fatty liver. I was suppose to have bi-pass and couldnt because of my liver and I am hoping the sleeve will work for me. I have found several good books on gluten free that will help, but I was also hoping for high Protein recipes that aren't high in fat. Where is your favorite go to for ideas? Being from the culinary world, I already started playing with some ideas that I of course can't test yet and my husband is already telling me to write a cookbook since there seems to be a need for one out there. I am going to fer sure try to dream up on treats using quinoa flour!

Looking forward!

I just downloaded a couple to my Kindle but haven't tried any recipes yet, flipping through them there seems to be some good ones.

There are a lot of them on Amazon, both physical and ebooks. Just search for "weight loss surgery cookbook". I have also downloaded a couple but haven't tried anything yet. I'm not quite to the point where I want to cook anything. I'm sure I will get there!

I just yesterday received 3 cookbooks:

-The Bariatric Foodie Holiday Survival Guide

-Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery

- Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook For Dummies

Can't tell you how good they are, I'm still in the pureed stage. Let us know if you write one!!!

My cook books are all vegetarian except for my ancient copy of The Joy of Cooking. I did just find a Vegan blog run by someone who had bypass that made me really excited. I know I need to stay vegetarian at least until I hit maintenance, but I would like to go vegan one day.

The cook book I like is called Vegan Soul Kitchen by Bryan Terry
