Sooooo, what do you think of the new name. It's a little off yours but I think it works.

I have a huge problem with PITA. But just to narrow it down. Any ethical breeder I know who is an advocate for There breed spends most there time helping the rescue. 10 or so years ago PETA decided that we abused dogs by leaving them in crates between classes. So they staged a "demonstration" and released the dogs from there confinement. One dog was hit by a car and killed. I watched an 11 year old girl sobbing while holding her deceased best friend. Totally not the place for this but Zelot's are scary. I would if needed bail if that was my kid or my fur-kid

This is one of the HOT topics that extreme views way in. I don't like it when the innocent are hurt by the actions of someone's careless thoughts. PETA's in you face awareness policy does show though the inhuman way animals are treated throughout many venues. If not for them and other activist, people wouldn't know about the animal factory farming practices for food and apparel, the treatment of show animals, and the depletion of our wildlife, to name a few. For me I can see the good and the bad of what they do.

I 100% agree a hot topic. Thank goodness we don't all have the same views. How boring would that be :0)

I promise not to bring up religion or politics ☺️

@Kindle Those dogs are precious! I had to put my Golden Retriever down this past year, he was 13 too. I have a couple rescue mutts at home and they are rotten.

Dogs are very supportive of WLS. My lab mix Silas sits next to me every morning and encourages me to leave a little of my egg on the plate for him to clean up. They are so thoughtful!

Mine were VERY helpful in helping ease the pain of canceling my membership the "Clean Plate Club". They became founding members of the new "Leave 4 bites....1 For Each Dog Club" (that includes my two dogs, plus my roommate's two dogs)

It took two weeks, but Abraham finally gave in and let Isaac up on the couch. My bed is still off limits, but that's OK, Isaac loves his crate.

Yesterday, I played with my friend's two gorgeous, deliriously happy dogs. They run like the wind! They made me so happy.

(My best friend / beautiful dog died suddenly a month and a half ago, and I'm recovering form her passing.) Dogs, even others' dogs, make so much instant joy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
