Superfluous 19 Posted January 4, 2015 I'm not to my goal weight yet but I was wondering how one determines when it's a good time to have skin removal surgery and how that impacts ones' weight. By the I mean, as I get closer to goal I am losing weight more slowly, of course, but part of my wonders if I *can* get to goal weight or if some of the weight is excess skin. Thoughts? SuperDave 1,115 Posted January 4, 2015 Of course having excess skin removed will result in weight loss. Exactly how much weight loss depends on how much excess skin you have. Also, you will most likely not feel like eating for a while after the surgery, resulting in some weight loss as well. It is important to remember, however, that your skin will continue to tighten for a while after weight loss. You will probably not see final results for up to a year after you reach your goal weight. And of course, everyone is different. Many factors play into how well your skin responds to your loss.
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted January 4, 2015 Okay, ideally you are stable at goal for awhile. For people who decide to do skin removal and still lose more weight, wont have as tight of results. The Dr Sauceda support group has several people who have gone this route...still overweight but making the most of their assets! Do not plan on plastics as a weight loss technique...it isn't worth it forthat in my opinion. Plastics made me look normal and fixed much of the damage obesity caused and I am thrilled with it , but it is N O JOKE!
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted January 4, 2015 I weighed 150 at plastics and am committed to staying within 15# of that weight to preserve my results.
