brandy31 32 Posted January 4, 2015 So, I'm only 5 days post op, & I wouldn't dare weigh right now. But, I was wondering how often do some of y'all weigh? Weighing has always been a hard thing for me. I've gotten super discouraged in the past, so much so, that'd I would only weigh once every couple weeks or once a month. I know that this surgery is a game changer though, so how often should I weigh?
Elode 8,093 Posted January 4, 2015 I weight maybe every two weeks or so.
tamg26k 479 Posted January 4, 2015 I'm 6 months out and I only have ever weighed once a month. This has worked really well for me. You don't need all of the added stress if you don't lose anything for a few days. I think that is the reason why I got in trouble in the past. If I didn't lose anything for a few days I would stop eating and that made things worse. Stick to the plan, the weight will definitely come off. An added bonus is that it feels so good to say you lost X amount in a month instead of 1/2 lb. here and there.
Summer Rain 245 Posted January 4, 2015 I weigh almost every day. I am two months out. I only record my weight once a week though. Weighing is so exciting now -- the scale is almost always going down Summer
Babbs 14,681 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) It depends. Are you going to let the numbers on the scale dictate how the rest of your day goes? Are you going to be able to deal with stalls and even weight gain if you weigh daily? If you think that's not going to bother you, by all means weigh daily. If it is a problem for you, stay off the scale and weigh weekly, bi monthly or even monthly if you feel that will work best for you. I weigh once a week, Monday morning no fail. Even weekly still can be annoying when you're in a longer stall Edited January 4, 2015 by Babbs
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted January 4, 2015 I weigh every day. Doesn't freak me out when I go up 0.4 pound or whatever. I'm just curious about this process.
Tauruslady5 154 Posted January 4, 2015 I had my surgery on 11/21. My first weighted was done on my two-week visit with the doctor. Then I am doing every Monday morning. I use the scale at work because it is the same type at my doctors.
nikki9 70 Posted January 4, 2015 I weight every day but either my house is not level or my scale is broken but depending on where I put the scale it can vary. So I only really count the scale at the doctor's office.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted January 4, 2015 I am one of those people who weigh every day. If I don't track, I lose track. Then if I have to make an adjustment in my eating plan, it is a small adjustment.
cornhusker 115 Posted January 4, 2015 First thing every Monday morning. I record it in Myfitnesspal and I move on.
sprocket 104 Posted January 4, 2015 I weigh each morning, but only record my weight weekly. I've found it keeps me focused on my goals for the day. Since I'm only about 7 weeks post-op, my weight has mostly moved downward (yay!), but I don't let it bother me if there's a slight up-tic. I know any "gains" are a temporary thing at this point.
