My hubby and I were at a market yesterday. He has been building up a sharpening business for the last 3 years. He wants to do it after he retires. You know to stay busy. Not my thing but if he wants it's okay with me. The man can't stay still. Worker to the bones you know....

Anyway we have a booth at a market and yesterday was its first day. So all the news team were out and filming. At 6:00 we turned on the news to see if the interview my hubby did with them would show up or be on the cutting room floor. It was not shown. But! In the background of another interview both of us were there.

Gees I looked huge in my winter coat. Oh when will this ever end! Please, plastics....save me!

tomorrow is my appointment with the Dr. I am so hoping it all goes well..... fingers crossed! Yikes.......

Congrats on the weight loss and on the opportunity to see the doc. tomorrow! Are your clothes so big they are falling off, then? If so, there are a lot of after-Christmas outerwear sales going on now, half-price or less. Even if you're not at goal yet, it might make you feel better to have something that fits better. This is not an easy thing we have done, people! I am so proud of all of you for doing so well! Reward yourselves...find a way (doesn't even have to cost money) to remind yourselves you've done a fabulous thing! Well done!

No! The coat is not too big. I am able to wear a sweater under it but it is winter and we need heavy coats here in Canada. So it just made me look huge......It was scary to see it. Seems to me that I will never get over having an outlook of seeing myself large.......Grrrrrrrrr

And I think a lot of us have that negative image of ourselves, no matter how much we lose...Amen?! I have this thing where, when I look in the mirror, I see the arm seams (where the sleeve joins the body of the shirt) always hanging way down onto the arm, because my belly is so big I have to have a shirt size that is so much bigger than it should be to fit the other areas properly. Since we all have some type of issue, I think it's GREAT that we can frankly discuss this without judgement, and another AMEN!

My hubby sharpens knives, scissors, garden tools and grooming stuff......And no I don't think the Dr. thinks that I am not a good candidate. He already repaired my scare where they left the tape and sponge in my bed sore. He is great. I just want him to do it all without saying no. The last one I saw was only interested in helping me if I could pay big bucks......:(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
