I was allowed string cheese during my pureed/mushy food stage, along with sugar free pudding and Jello. As far as to count it as a meal or snack? I was only eating a tablespoon or 2 per meal at that stage. And I could only eat about once every 1/2 hour - so everything was "snack size" for me. :o

At the mushy/pureed food stage you can count it where ever you want. Just remember to get your Protein and ounces of Water in every day..... I would figure a cheese stick string cheese would be an entire meal if you could get the entire thing ate. As for the pudding put some Protein Powder in it..... 4oz...sugar free....fat free ... protein......full meal..... bingo!!!!!

I don't distinguish between meals and Snacks because the portions of everything is so small. I simply eat 5-6 times a day and never overeat. Are they snacks or meals? Doesn't really matter what I call them. Back when I was in pureed stage, I drank shakes and broth or Soups with unflavored Protein powder all day and only ate "solids" 1-2 times/day because everything made me so full. All I worried about was getting in 64+ oz Fluid and 60-80g protein however I could.

I was the same. I had to eat something every 2 hours, so I did use string cheese, applesauce, etc. I especially loved having the refried Beans w/some shredded cheese on top. I would only do 2 oz of that.. Made my tummy feel full.

Nuts have all sorts of "rules", but in most cases they have never actually gone through Bariatric surgery themselves so WTH do they know! Not everyone fits into their textbook guidelines of healing, tolerance, weight loss goals, etc. Just figure out what works for you and go with that. Your body, your journey, your rules.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
