joatsaint 2,814 Posted January 4, 2015 I was allowed string cheese during my pureed/mushy food stage, along with sugar free pudding and Jello. As far as to count it as a meal or snack? I was only eating a tablespoon or 2 per meal at that stage. And I could only eat about once every 1/2 hour - so everything was "snack size" for me.
Jordan861 124 Posted January 4, 2015 At the mushy/pureed food stage you can count it where ever you want. Just remember to get your Protein and ounces of Water in every day..... I would figure a cheese stick string cheese would be an entire meal if you could get the entire thing ate. As for the pudding put some Protein Powder in it..... 4oz...sugar free....fat free ... protein......full meal..... bingo!!!!!
Kindle 8,667 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) I don't distinguish between meals and Snacks because the portions of everything is so small. I simply eat 5-6 times a day and never overeat. Are they snacks or meals? Doesn't really matter what I call them. Back when I was in pureed stage, I drank shakes and broth or Soups with unflavored Protein powder all day and only ate "solids" 1-2 times/day because everything made me so full. All I worried about was getting in 64+ oz Fluid and 60-80g protein however I could. Edited January 4, 2015 by Kindle

Tauruslady5 154 Posted January 4, 2015 I was the same. I had to eat something every 2 hours, so I did use string cheese, applesauce, etc. I especially loved having the refried Beans w/some shredded cheese on top. I would only do 2 oz of that.. Made my tummy feel full.

Kindle 8,667 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Nuts have all sorts of "rules", but in most cases they have never actually gone through Bariatric surgery themselves so WTH do they know! Not everyone fits into their textbook guidelines of healing, tolerance, weight loss goals, etc. Just figure out what works for you and go with that. Your body, your journey, your rules.
