ShellBell628 0 Posted January 3, 2015 Is there a recommendation for how much protein/sugar to eat? I've been eating the cottage cheese with fruit and it only has 7 grams of Protein and 10 grams of sugar. Seems like a lot of sugar for a low amount of protein. Elode 8,093 Posted January 3, 2015 I just made a post about this, it varies. I'm on the low end as far as sugar I get maybe 20 grams a week where as the recommended daily amount is 25 Grams a DAY. I had a real issue with sugar so I completely cut added sugar out of my diet (I'm probably a bit extreme so don't try to follow me) My Protein is good 90+ grams a day. I guess it really just depends on what your surgeon or NUT recommends for you.@@ShellBell628
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 3, 2015 I track using myfitness pal. I cannot eat most artificial sugars or processed foods due to allergies. I have found that you get less sugar if you buy plain and add your own fruit. I use a variety of real sweeteners. I use organic sugar, coconut sugar, raw honey or occasionally maple Syrup. Looking at my dairy yesterday I had 72gms of Protein and 21gms of sugar.
onmywaytobeingfound 163 Posted January 3, 2015 I found that I have to add a clear tasteless Protein Powder to really everything that is to be considered a meal. I'm really liking injury right now. I just drank sugar free fast free chocolate pudding thinned way down with my unflavored Unjury in it. It was great!
onmywaytobeingfound 163 Posted January 3, 2015 Just seen my typo. Sorry! My plan wants me to eat 5 to 6 meals a day. Less than 10 fats, less than 10 sugars, more than 10 Proteins. Following that I'll get more than the 60 Protein a day which is recommended. Hope this helps :-)
ProjectMe 909 Posted January 3, 2015 My nutritionist recommends less than 15g carbs, less than 5g fat, and less than 5 g of sugar. I try to follow this but also keep in mind that if you'd like to eat something that falls outside of this range just limit the portion size to 1/2 or 1/4 till it meets the guidelines. ProjectMe 909 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) @@BLERDgirl Its per portion of food and/or my food choices. So I cannot eat more than 3/4 cup in one sitting, according to nutritionist that 3/4 cup must fall within the guidelines I mentioned. Same with making healthy choices at the grocery store or restaraunt (I.e choosing Dannon carb control is a better choice than yo plait light). Hope this makes sense Edited January 4, 2015 by ProjectMe
TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted January 4, 2015 Is there a recommendation for how much protein/sugar to eat? I've been eating the cottage cheese with fruit and it only has 7 grams of Protein and 10 grams of sugar. Seems like a lot of sugar for a low amount of Protein.< /p> My NUT recommends a 4:1 ratio of protein to carbohydrates. If you need sweetness in your cottage cheese, try add cinnamon and no calorie sweetener. We should not be eating anything with added fruit and sugar, that will just hinder weight loss and may cause cravings. Dannon makes a Light & Fit Greek yogurt that is delicious, or you can take ff plain Greek yogurt and add no calorie sweetener and your choice of extract, cocoa, Crystal Light, Duncan Hines Frosting Creations (they have no sugar), etc.... Here is a recipe for cannoli cream that is AMAZING!! 1 Cup of fat free ricotta (or Sorrento Low-Fat deli style, it is very smooth & creamy) 1 TBSP fat free/sugar free instant pudding mix (vanilla, cheesecake, etc…) 1/3 Cup of Water 1/6 Cup powdered milk 1/2 to 1 tsp. extract (vanilla, rum, almond, etc…) Blend all in a blender or bullet. Nutrition for the whole thing (it is actually 3-4 meals for me) Fat-0, carbs-17.5, fiber-0, protein 25, Calories-
