Amesterdam 0 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm 15 days post-op with my sleeve, and I have not lost an ounce in 8 days. Is that normal?
Elode 8,093 Posted January 3, 2015 Yes it can be. Your body needs time to catch up. Give yourself some time.
IcanMakeit 1,318 Posted January 3, 2015 I gained Water weight right after surgery and it took a week to get back to my pre-op weight. And then I lost almost nothing the next week. I was very concerned that I would be a failure, but from reading everyone's experiences on this site and others, I stopped worrying so much about the pace of weight loss. (I didn't suddenly become more patient, just more realistic.)
McButterpants 2,846 Posted January 3, 2015 You just went thru major surgery - give your body a break. It's still trying to figure out what you've done to it. Be patient and follow your doctor's instructions...the weight will come off. If you haven't started taking measurements (upper arms, neck, bust, chest, waist, hips, thigh, calf, etc), do so now. It will be most helpful when you're in a stall to see your body getting smaller. Also, start making a photo journal - I love looking back at my pictures and seeing myself shrink. You got this! You're doing fine.
Amesterdam 0 Posted January 3, 2015 Thanks for the advice. I'll try not to worry about it too much. :-)
Debbieduck4 399 Posted January 3, 2015 This happened to me too at first. I gained 7 pounds out of surgery and the first week didn't lose anything. I was really worried and lots of negative self-talk started to creep in like I was going to fail at this the same as every other diet I'd ever tried. Then the healing began and the process started to work and the weight started coming off. It will for you too! Try not to worry.
