I'm looking forward to buying a swimming suit for the first time in a decade.

I'm looking forward to setting a better health example for my daughter.

Getting up and down off of the floor. This is unbelievably demoralizing. It is especially an issue since I teach first grade. I want to shop in "normal" size clothing section. It is more about health and feeling good for me. Looking better will certainly help my self confidence.

Keeping up with our grandchildren.

I'm being sleeved February 26th.

I'm looking forward to:

Going to China with my sister and mother at the end of April-being able to walk up and down the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and everywhere else for 15 glorious days.

To fit into a pair of jeans that I saved from the last time I was 148 pounds-they are this white wash denim, and back in style-by the end of the year. Lmao!

To wear a fabulous white Cache dress that I already bought for my Seven Sisters college graduations laurel parade in May.

To get back out and date after 5 years of self-imposed exile.

To FINALLY not be the "fat" one in my family.

There are sooooo many more things I'm looking forward to. I have "let go" of so much baggage since beginning this journey. I look forward to continuing on this path as me, just a thinner version.

OMG, just found this thread again. How things have changed in six short months! China was the trip of a lifetime. I didn't swell up, was comfortable walking the many miles each day. At one point it was over 22,000 steps before my counter died.

The jeans will fit in another twenty-five or so pounds. I tried them on the other week and was able to get them up. No where buttoning, and they have NO STRETCH! But, before the end of the year, I'll be posting a pic.

Graduation, I wore that fabulous dress and it fit beautifully. I was happy and proud of ALL my accomplishments.

Still haven't dated, yet. Working on it, writhing the next few weeks, I'll make myself go on at least one. Lol.

And finally, I'm NOT the fat one in the family. My mother, who doesn't know, and won't, called me her "skinny" daughter. It felt wonderful.

I'm still a work in progress, and it is something I'll probably be doing the rest of my life. It's a journey, all right. I am going to enjoy every precious day of it!!!!!

I was sleeved 2/26/15

I have currently lost 102 lbs

Best thing I could have ever done for myself. I'm thrilled for the fact I no longer have to wear stretch waste band pants. Yay. I also can get around and do my own shopping. How are you doing??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
