Pulled/torn abdomen muscles!

Recommended Posts

Just before two weeks post op, at a gathering at my home, my little dog decided to get scrappy with one of my best friends little dogs. I stooped to scoop her up and a searing white pain tore through my abdomen. I went to the ER. Nothing serious it appears, but I absolutely cannot utilize my core. Has this happened to anyone else? I know moms with small children will have something like this happen from time to time. Have you got any strategies to improve mobilization with a terribly painful stomach?

Sounds like me after both my c- sections. You need to keep those muscles relax so they can heal. Hot bubble baths are awesome too.

Same thing happened to me about 10 days postop. I pulled an abdominal muscle and also ended up in the ER. I was on hydrocodone and valium and basically slept through a week, just waking up to go to the bathroom and take more medicine. Using a heating pad really helped me. And the muscle relaxer. It took lots of rest and TLC from my family to get through it. If heat doesn't help, try ice. Both gave me some relief.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
