I really enjoy GENEPRO, it mixes in to everything so nice with barely any taste. It's worth the money!

I use Mercola's unflavored Miracle whey. All of them make me nauseous, even his flavored ones, but this one I can tolerate.

I've only used Isopure unflavored powdered Protein. I mix it into all kinds of foods - after cooking them. I'm not sure if you're suppose to cook Protein Powder or not. I've read some who say it's okay and some say the cooked powder messes up the recipe.

I use Unjury and while I do not like the smell...I can't taste it. I just hold my breath when mixing it into my Soups and yogurt.

Yes, unjury is the one I would recommend as well. I've tried others and Unjury just mixes better. I put it in my Greek yogurt every day!!

I use whey Protein isolate micro filtered from truenutrition.com. The cold filtered dissolves in everything and has a neutral flavor as well, but I recommend the micro filtered if you are at all sensitive to lactose.

I was told to use beneprotien by Nestle. One scoop six times a day. I'm starting pre-op Optifast on Monday and surgery on Monday Jan 19

I use GENEPRO everyday in my 32oz of my hot Decaf tea every morning, and I mix it into other stuff if I find I am behind in my Protein for the day. Love this stuff!! Has been a life saver for me!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
