WL WARRIOR 692 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm getting over a sinus and ear infection and Sudafed/antihistamines were approved by my doctor. Sudafed raises my blood pressure a little, however. A steroid spray was also prescribed. Saline sprays can be bought over the counter and may also help. Alka-Seltzer Cold and Flu (which I have always found to work well) is not allowed. Day-quil, Ny-quil, and Mucinex may need to be checked. Tylenol and Guafineson (ingredients in Mucinex) should be okay.
Luvin_Life125 558 Posted January 2, 2015 I just got over a bad cold with head congestion. My surgeon ok'd real Sudafed ( the kind you have to ask the pharmacist for), mucinex, and Delsym. The combo worked well and seemed to keep the symptoms minimal. Try giving your surgeon's office a call today and hopefully you can catch someone to ask. I hope you feel better soon! BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 2, 2015 You can call your doctor's office to check, but I'm pretty sure nyquill will be okay. I take ZyrtecD and flonase due to bad sinuses and was able to resume them immediately after surgery.

Quest4TheNewMe 225 Posted January 2, 2015 I have a nasty cough and sore throat and I was told that sugar free cough Syrup and sugar free cough drops are okay. Doesn't help you with congestion though...
