Guys, i'm going insane. Thing is, my surgery is set for January 6th, not only am I starving but I have to admit I am excited as can be.

Yesterday I went in for my pre-surgical testing and thank the heavens that everything came out perfect, or so I thought.

Later in the afternoon, I got a phone call saying, "we found something in your urine, it looks like an infection."

Like are you kidding me? Ive had infections down there before and I havent had any symptoms or else I would of gotten it taken care of a while ago instead of now. Supposedly, this could make my surgery be postponed. Like are you serious, she said that there is also a chance that it might still be set as long as im being treated but that it all depends on my surgeon.

I'm just wondering, has this ever happend to anyone else? I'm going insane.. I just really don't want to wait any longer for my surgery.

Don't worry it could have just been what's called a dirty catch. They will probably have you retested. They may provide them but take baby wipes with you and wipe before peeing in the cup. Most times the urine comes back clean and you're fine. If not they will start you on antibiotics, but it shouldn't prevent your surgery.

Oh boo sorry to heR! I hope everything turns out ok for you. It could prob be something small like a bladder or yeast infection. Sending positive thoughts your way

YOU are making yourself crazy.

Don't do that.

Everybody here has had the surgery, and so far as I know we're all still alive. :)

And doing pretty well. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
