During the time after heck in before being wheeled way to surgery question.

You'll be OK :) But I would suggest that if you're feeling a little anxious ask for your "cocktail" once the IV is in. Don't let them guess if you need it.

I was fine...OK...so I did contemplate changing my mind, I think everyone does. But once it was time to go to the OR, and my husband said "I love you", I could feel myself getting emotional. The anesthesiologist popped over to my IV and gave me something. I relaxed immediately. :D

I don't know why I didn't get something earlier. I guess they thought I was calm, cool, and collected, ha!

Even with the relaxing meds in pre-op that they gave me (which we amazing btw) I still started crying when they wheeled me away. Then I got to the operating room and had a full blown panic attack. It was really scary for me, I can't deny that. But this all happened in a span of like 4 minutes tops, if that. As soon as they saw that I was really freaking out they went ahead and gave me the anesthesia.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
