sweetgagrl00 39 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Must say so far it's not been so bad, but not exactly how I wanted to spend my 40th birthday. Looking forward to having the next 2 weeks behind me. Edited January 2, 2015 by sweetgagrl00
samcat681 38 Posted January 2, 2015 I am a week into my pre op diet and I am surprised how well my head is cooperating. I have been keeping busy and drinking A LOT of tea and Water. Stay focused and keep your eye on the prize. I have lost 10 lb and I find my jeans aren't as tight (and I can breathe easier ). Just keep positive. This is only the beginning and I am sure there will be a few more hiccups along the way.

gowalking 10,790 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm two years ahead of you all. I started my pre-op diet on December 31, 2012 and was banded January 14, 2013. Good luck to you all!
Bandista 7,466 Posted January 3, 2015 Congratulations all -- pre-op isn't easy but I loved it that those pounds I lost were ones that for the first time were never coming back. And being really healthy for the surgery was a big motivation. New chapter ahead!

Dsteele89 5 Posted January 7, 2015 I'm on day three and already trying to find recipe ideas for the 250 calories of low GI veggies a day. Anyone have any favourite recipes they would like to share?
samcat681 38 Posted January 8, 2015 D steelers, where are you having your surgery? You sound like you are on the exact same pre op diet as me. I always had a salad for lunch with a good selection of low GI veggies. The problem I had is that I have to have some kind of dressing on my salad in order to eat it. This is the recipe I used. 2 tbs apple cider vinegar 1 tbs dijon mustard 1 tsp lemon zest 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning Pepper to taste 1 garlic clove Stevia to taste Blend together in a blender or magic bullet. I would make a big batch of this and use it to season other things like stir fry (without the oil). I also went on pinterest and found a recipe for cauliflower rice. You can Google it. It's pretty much just cauliflower that has been finely chopped in a food processor and baked in the oven. I was amazed how creative I got and had some pretty decent meals. Oh well that part is over because my surgery is tomorrow. Can't wait to see you on the other side too:)!
