Tucker25 12 Posted January 10, 2015 Hey there. Well this is my first reply in here so bare with me. That is so very exciting about your appointment!! I was hoping to have the first appointment with the surgeon in February but they are months behind. ???? How is that possible? But this is such an amazing procedure and changes lives forever. I wish you all the success. What city do you live in? I'm in Toronto.
anewme15 40 Posted January 14, 2015 @, I'm in Ottawa. My expected surgery date is August. Hoping it will be quicker! When did you start the process ? I'm so excited, can't wait for it !
Tintin 23 Posted January 20, 2015 I am also new on this system and from Ottawa. I have my pre-surgery class tomorrow and meeting with surgeon on Feb. 10th. I wonder when my surgery will be? When did you have your class and meeting with the doctor?
anewme15 40 Posted January 21, 2015 @@Tintin, I'm meeting the dietician/Behaviourist on Fri. Jan 23rd. Hoping it goes well so I can move to the pro op class quick! Your getting so close! Keep us posted
kamarsha 4 Posted January 21, 2015 My first time posting here; had my surgery one week ago in Toronto. I had been told not to expect a date until late spring/early summer but phoned the surgeon's office in early Dec to see if any dates had opened up and they'd just had a cancellation! Down 11 lbs in the 2 wks prior while on Optifast and 6 lbs since surgery. Don't get discouraged by the long wait times; if you keep checking (politely) you may find that an earlier date opens up. Tucker25 12 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi Anewme15, sorry but I haven't been on for a long time. I'm so excited for you and tintin. It's a very slow process here in Toronto, maybe cause of the population. I hope things speed up once I meet with the surgeon. @@kamarsha where did you have your surgery in Toronto? I'm with humber west, I think that's what it's called. Just curious.
kamarsha 4 Posted January 21, 2015 @ Hi, I had it at Humber River hospital, the Finch site. My surgeon was Laz Klein, who has an amazing reputation. He's certified by the American association that accredits bariatric surgeons and when I checked last year, was the only Canadian doctor to have that. Who's doing yours? Tucker25 12 Posted January 21, 2015 @@kamarsha that's the hospital where I'm going too, and the same site. I'm way out in pickering and not familiar with the west end. Lol. Thank you for the information about your surgeon. Now I'm so excited. Where do you live? Are you in Toronto as well or outside? I want to know everything about your experience. Lol. I still have to have my meeting with the surgeon. I just had my info session December 8 2014. I hope to have my surgery around May or June. How are you doing?
