stay75 10 Posted December 31, 2014 Hi I'm getting closer to getting my date. I did everything that was needed had my endoscopy today and my 6 month weigh in was kind of done today as well ????. I need to go back to the surgeon who did the endoscopy two weeks from now to see if anything was wrong. I'm planning to have the band done in February since I have a week off (I'm a teacher and we have mid winter break). I was wondering if anyone on this site has had the band done in the New York area and where did they go for it

Very happy with the practice and my care there.
cruummbs 36 Posted December 31, 2014 I decided to get the sleeve because it's permanent and less complications. NY Bariartic.Group in Roslyn. stopobesityforlife.com..
stay75 10 Posted December 31, 2014 I went with a place called the OBand center they have offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn. With my insurance I'm able to have the surgery done in nyu instead of going all the way into brooklyn which I'm very happy about
cruummbs 36 Posted December 31, 2014 Who was your Dr? How long was the process "leg work'? How long did it take for instance approval I have my final weigh in next week
gowalking 10,790 Posted December 31, 2014 Not sure if you're asking me or stay75 but if it's me, my doctor was Christine Ren-Fielding at NYU Bariatric Group. I started the process in July of 2012 and was scheduled for surgery in October. It was postponed till January of 2013 because Sandy hit and NYU was closed for three months with storm damage. My insurance needed three months documentation of doctor-supervised weight loss attempts.
cruummbs 36 Posted December 31, 2014 Wowwww..I would have being pssst...sounds like we have the same is rance I had to do 4 weigh ins. Me and my boyfriend started the paperwork in Oct 2014 he had his sleeve surgery Dec 23...
gowalking 10,790 Posted December 31, 2014 I wasn't upset because I didn't want to have the surgery at all. I did this completely under duress. If I didn't lose weight, I would have wound up in a wheelchair and then I wouldn't have been able to work. To my utter surprise, the band worked great for me even though I wasn't in a good frame of mind and as you can see from my ticker, I've lost a tremendous amount of weight and I've gotten my life back in the process. It's been like a miracle for me and am more grateful than you could possibly imagine.
stay75 10 Posted December 31, 2014 I'm don't remember the name of my dr off hand I know he did a famous new weatherman a surgery. I have been in the process of this for 6 months now. I guess I could have done in January but since I have off for a week in February I thought it would be smarter to wait
briefs199 337 Posted January 5, 2015 I went to NYU as well. It's a center of excellence for bariatric surgery. Sounds like you may be on Long Island. Check out LIJ or North Shore as well if you don't want to go to the city. Make it convenient so you get your fills
