I had my sleeve surgery on 12/12. I'm

Recommended Posts

Still on liquids, light cream Soups, egg, refried Beans & light cottage cheese. Today I noticed after I eat my stomach makes a gurgling noise like it's full and achey. I've never had this issue before? Has anyone else had anything similar, or know what I'm talking about? Thank you!

I had mine on 12/16 and yup if I drink/eat too much or too fast the gurgles start its a good warning to me. That full and achey feeling is the feeling your eating too fast or too much or both. that's your warning. Continue on and you will most noticeably have everything from diarrhea to vomiting.

Good luck.

I know what you're talkin' bout! For months post op, whenever I would eat a "difficult" food like eggs or chicken, Frankensleeve would feel like a garbage disposal that was trying to grind up rocks! I would feel a seizing feeling, cramps, and a grinding sensation in my sleeve. The ironic part was that this happened when I was eating my "good for me" foods - chicken, eggs, vegetables, fruit. Processed foods like Peanut Butter gave me no problems.

It happened last night with 5 bites of light cream Soup, happened today with 5 bites of light cream soup & tonight when I ate an egg. Don't know how much slower I can eat, nearly took me 20 min to eat and I

don't think 5 bites of soup or one egg is too much food? It's so strange! What am I going to do when I go back to work Monday and get a 30 min lunch break?!!?

It's not how much you eat, it's just going to take time for your new sleeve to retrain itself to digest food. It took mine months and months to calm down.

For my 1st month back at work, I carried cans of Cream of Mushroom Soup to work. I kept an open can on my desk and at a tablespoon here and there (I ate it cold! Yes I know it sound yucky, but it was a small price to pay for getting my life back! B) ).

I never finished an entire can before the end of the day. And I never worried about getting in enough Protein or calories. I concentrated on staying hydrated and ate as I could. As long as I felt okay, I figured I was doing well.

@@applegal79 Hi! My belly makes lost of little noises sometimes (often) it's not from me eating too fast ect...it's just the belly Working on digesting. If you feel like it's hurting or any pain then just take one less bite before you feel full. Even if your not you can always go back after awhile and eat a little more. I started that from the beginning And I've never had to go back and eat anymore. Also if your not already weigh your food out so you know how many oz your taking in. Good luck!

Thanks Elode! It doesn't hurt just makes lots of noise! I was afraid if I was eating to much I need to eat less!

Eating cold Soup at work sounds gross but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I feel like I'm doing pretty good. My surgery was on 12/12 and I'm down 16 pounds. I'm pretty happy!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
