Wow donnamaria65 that is excellent. Congratulations to you. I am glad u said that about taking it back to basics. That is exactly what I need and am going to do. That way I'm making sure I eat for nutrition and Protein not satisfaction or taste. I am going to out the scale away and only weigh myself every so often. It's becoming too much for me to do everyday and is taking a toll on my outlook on my weight.

Good for you Jess, we are all here to help support each other and without this group I'd be lost. Hate drinking my Protein Shakes but I know if I don't, I'll be in big trouble lol. Keep up the good work everyone and we must (try) stay positive.

This is such a great topic. That damn scale is the most frustrating! I weigh once per day and so far had only one stall. I believe I might have started my 2nd stall about a week ago. No matter how much I work out, get my Protein and Water that darn scale just won't move. No matter how much I tell myself not to get frustrated, I still do. Yet, every morning I get back on that stupid scale only to be told nothing is happening.

Ugh!

I know that if I just stay on track the stall will break and I will start losing again. I think I am ready to start weighing once a week. I am a positive person and do not need the damn scale bursting my bubble when I hit a stall.

So, I am going to try like heck to stay off of it for a week and see what happens.

The good news is, I had to go buy new pants again because mine are getting pretty saggy. I have moved from a size 26 to a size 16! I have not been in a 16 since I was in my twenties! What a fantastic goal to have met so soon! I like using clothing to measure my progress as opposed to the scale. They make me feel great!

Jess - I had my surgery on January 8th, I've lost 20 pounds and now i'm stalled. We can't let the scale rule our lives, it's not fair to us. This morning I put on a pair of pants that used to be perfectly snug and now i can pull them two inches away from my belly. At least I now know I'm losing inches which makes me feel so much better.

I'm not getting all my Protein in because I'm getting sick after most of my meals. Stick with the plan and it will work. Think positive. This is still a new tool for you to use.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
