Hello all, I'm writing to you as I just crawled into bed at 4pm lol I have one week to go until I have to go back to work and I am so anxious about it. I can't seem to stay up past 8-9 pm I try my hardest but it never happens. I got a b-12 shot today that's supposed to help but like I said I just crawled into bed.. I sometimes have to work nights and I don't know how I'm going to pull this off?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Oh and I've been getting in my Protein, taking my Vitamins, drink my fluids..

How long ago did you have WLS?

The first 2 weeks I was napping twice per day and I did rest a lot.

The next 2 weeks I was going to bed at 7:00 PM and still napping most days in the afternoon.

The next 4 weeks I napped occasionally and some days I went to bed early but less and less. At times I felt like a toddler who wears himself out from so much playing. Exhaustion came up all of a sudden.

At 8 weeks I am completely recovered.

You have to pace yourself. It's kind of learning not to do anymore then you have to but doing a little more everyday. Take lots of breaks. Even sitting down for a few minutes here and there helps. Of course, at work it will be a little more challenging but please understand you had major surgery and nobody expects you to bounce back like a rubber band. The good news is at this point I feel way better then then I did before surgery. There is hope!

@@Beni I had WLS 3 weeks ago yesterday, and last night was the first night I actually got a good nights sleep (thank god) I feel a bit better, I don't know if it's from the B12 shot or if I was just soo tired and run down that my body actually let me sleep.. I go back to work this coming Tuesday .. So scared!!

I see. I think most likely you were just tired. Your body went through a lot. I was pretty tired too but every day you will get stronger. sleeping is not as restful too. I think your body knows you went through a lot because the fear or flight instinct kicks in. It's like you are ready to wake up at a second's notice because the lions are about to eat you, lol. At 8 weeks I am better then new. Hang in there. Your turn will come.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
