Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice on which Protein powder is your favorite, and why? Ideally I would like to find the lowest calorie, highest Protein supplement. Thanks in advance for any help!

I think one of the lowest calorie ones out there are Syntrax nectar, and the nutrition profile looks good - but honestly, I hate them. They're a fan favorite, though!

Premier RTD shakes are the ones I used the most. 30 grams of Protein for a container, and they kind of taste like Yoo-Hoo to me. Plus they're easy to stash all over the place so there's always one handy.

Syntrax Matrix is pretty good, but check to make sure it's on the approved list for your program. It was on ours, but I've seen a few people say it isn't on theirs. Good Protein, decent taste, and the price is pretty good too.

In terms of taste, BSN Syntha-6 is probably my favorite. It IS a little higher on the calorie side, but I don't use a full serving at one time. I worried a lot about the calories in that one (200/serving) at first, but it turns out I can't finish a serving, so it's a moot point.

Check out places like Nashua Nutrition (there are others, too, I just can't think of them) and you can order samples of a whole bunch of brands and flavors for less than $2 each. Good luck finding the right one!

I like the syntax nectar Fuzzy Navel. It is not thick. 2 scoops is 200 cal and I drank it all day long. I would mix up two scoops in a Tervis tumbler and then pour over ice which would dilute it.

Premier Protein are good. vanilla and chocolate.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
