kathy0529 41 Posted February 10, 2015 @@RedSalamander I hate to say it, but there's more snow coming on Thursday and Sunday!! I can't take it! I'm going to try and finagle 2 more weeks off of work from my Doc tomorrow. Not sure if I'll get it, but I don't want to deal w/the commute on top of recuperating! Jewelgirl04 106 Posted February 14, 2015 Been recovering from some sort of illness that includes a sore throat, cough (which is just great for the stomach of course), stuffy nose, headache, and body aches. Unfortunately, that meant I couldn't tolerate much, so it was mainly liquids. I tried to get at least one Protein shake in for 30g of Protein and then two string cheeses at 10g combined. I'd have a piece of soft cheese here and there, a little cottage cheese and yogurt as well to get me up to 60g. Sometimes, I could get down two shakes and wouldn't have to worry about the protein intake for the day. The worst is that I can't really take anything, save for children's Tylenol. That's what the doctor told me I can have. It helps a little, but it's not great. Luckily, I seem to be coming down from it now. Just a bit phlegmy, but not as out of it and exhausted as I was. Maybe the sickness is affecting me, but I'm finding it hard to stomach anything other than liquids now. The cheese is tolerable at best. Ugh. I've been craving so many things lately, like hibachi ANYTHING. Ugh.
joshwah 23 Posted February 20, 2015 Just wanted to update since its now been 1 month from my surgery date. Since the date of surgery I have dropped 37lbs. I think I would have dropped more but I rolled my ankle and had to be off my feet for a week. I haven't been sick from eating anything. I have been able to stomach everything so far! Honestly, it's been a pretty textbook recovery with no issues. The only thing I have experienced is the extremely uncomfortable sensation after eating a little too quickly. I wish everyone good luck on their journey. One month down and a lifetime to go
