Crystal88 85 Posted December 29, 2014 Where i want to go to McDonalds and get a Big Mac, large fries, and large chocolate chip frappe..or maybe driver 45 minutes to the nearest In & Out and get a double double w/ grilled onions and a large chocolate shake...or go to the movie theater, and get a large bucket of popcorn with extra butter all for me. I'm 8 weeks post op and I battle my food addiction every second of my life. I was 250 pounds by the time I was 15 years old...I would use my allowance to go to the nearest liquor store and buy a 1 liter Pepsi, bag of hot cheetos, a king size Reese's PB cups, and a snickers ice cream bar. On days like THIS...I don't eat. The stuff I want to eat, is ridiculously unhealthy for me, so I choose to stick to my Protein Shakes and Water. The head hunger doesn't always go away. I have a brother who says NOTHING tastes good to him (he's 9 months post op). I can do this. I will continue to fight the fight.
SuperDave 1,115 Posted December 29, 2014 Keep it up! The longer you resist the urge the easier it becomes. You have got this! It will be worth it all in the long run!
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted December 29, 2014 I have a lot of those days. Some things I can modify or eat a tiny amount of and other things I just can't have. One of my favorite foods is breadsticks with cheese (would you like some carbs with those carbs?) and there is no modifying that, I can't have it. But this weekend we went out for pizza and I had a salad and half a Pizza Crust. Just enough to have a taste of it. I like the idea of doing liquid on those days. I might try that on those days where I just want to eat everything in sight.
Babbs 14,681 Posted December 29, 2014 You got this! You know we ALL go through it, so you're not alone! I like your idea, also, and may try that when I'm having "one of those days"
CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted December 29, 2014 Yeah, sounds good, doesn't it. Then I think about how much I paid ($ and physically) for this surgery, and it puts it in perspective. I have to go ,get what I'm allowed at this pureed stage, eat it, then FORCE my mind onto something else. DO something, Jen, do it NOW. NOW. It does the job. Be strong and carry on...
