Elode 8,093 Posted December 29, 2014 My surgeon says to up your calories....but your body is probably just adjusting to the new food. You may not be showing on the scale but are your clothes getting lose? Are you working out and maybe gaining muscle?
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 29, 2014 What are you currently eating Are you getting in your Protein and fluids? Are you exercising?
fezik23 240 Posted December 29, 2014 I had my surgery June 25th, I lost pretty well in the beginning. Now it's VERY slow. Like, between Thanksgiving and Christmas I didn't lose anything! My surgeon was pretty surprised. Regardless, I feel 100% better, have more energy and motivation, and I keep telling myself that the slow loss is giving my skin time to "catch up" with the pounds lost--so less saggy, wrinkly skin. Really. And being honest with myself about times when I try to eat things I really shouldn't is critical.

anaarnaiz 6 Posted December 29, 2014 Btw my surgery was November
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 29, 2014 It may just be a stall. There really is no rhyme or reason to them. It's your body adjusting to the changes going on. Just keep working your program, you may even try upping your calories and/or Protein. I know for me having protein before and after a workout produces good results so I make a large Protein Shake with greek yogurt and have half before and half after. New Kam14 0 Posted December 31, 2014 @anaarnaiz: I'm having the same issue. My surgery was November 25 and I had a follow up appointment today. My dietician told me to increase my Protein intake and make sure that I'm eating 6 meals per day. I'm praying this works????????
llamawithawhip 7 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Sounds like you are just going through a stall - I find VSG weight loss is a constant series of quick losses followed by plateaus, which increase in frequency, it seems, as weight is lost (for me anyways, but my NUT has said this is pretty standard). If you are striving for the correct amount of fluids, calories and Protein per your NUT, you are doing it right. Everything else happens in time. :-) EDIT: Not that waiting for everything else to happen in time doesn't really, really suck lol Edited January 2, 2015 by llamawithawhip
