Isopure OR Muscle Milk?

Recommended Posts

Which Isopure? The clear liquid bottles or powder mix? I had the clear bottles the first days following surgery. I only cared for the apple-melon and alpine punch (super cold) I won't say they taste great but they served the purpose. I have muscle milk samples but never used them. I'm a Premier Protein junkie and I intent on staying that way for now ; )-@@Stephie76

be careful muscle milk is not lo calorie, they do make muscle milk light however. I got a bunch of premier stuff fro free from premier so far I tried the chocolate and tossed it out halfway through yech, but that's me I wish I could ship the rest to people who like it. lol I have yet to try the strawberry and vanilla.< /p>

I'd say get both, small quantities.. I don't mind the Isopure vanilla, but I add it to soymilk and then add a teaspoon of cocoa powder and a splash of sugar free hazelnut coffee creamer.--- also I've been told that your taste buds change, so what you liked before might not like it after, this has certainly been true for me... Id also suggest to look for variety packs, and Walmart sells a good Protein Shake called Level, it's got 1g of sugar in the diabetic section...

Which tastes better? My surgery date is January 28th so I'm trying to get ya'll opinion. Thanks! :)

HUGE fan of Muscle Milk Light (100 calorie chocolate) here. Isopure used to be my go-to Protein, but after Muscle Milk, it just doesn't seem that yummy anymore.

However, Isopure has this great dissolvable Protein you can put into anything - that is really nice to have because it is almost tasteless so you can add it to pretty much anything.

That's subjective. For every person that like Isopure, you'll find another who prefers muscle milk. You need to taste them for yourself.

I live in South Carolina so I but it from Bi lo. If you have it in your area they can order it by the case for you or you can order from the company I think

It's made by Shamrock Farms.

Yall I bought Premier Protein shakes and bars at costco and they've got like 30g of Protein, very low sugar on the bar like 10g, and even lower on the shakes, it came out to a dollar each individual bar or shake, and you know in the costco size, but it's well worth it, and actually don't taste chalky or leave me with a weird aftertaste or Vitamin taste like these darn chewable Multivitamins I take :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
