Vitamin suggestions please! Thank you!

Recommended Posts

Hi All. I would appreciate suggestions for Vitamins. I got the Bariatric Advantage chewable and they are awful. So doctor said I could chop NatureMade for Her in half and take it. It makes me nauseous! Has anyone found a gentle, palatable multi-Vitamin and/or Iron supplement?? Thanks for your help!

Are you eating something first? I take Nature Made, they do not make me nauseous but I always eat something or drink a Protein Drink first.

I take Bariatric Advantage, but not the chewable I use the gel caps. They are rather large but I can swallow them and have been able to since two weeks out.

I did find thru trial and error that I have to take them after Breakfast and after lunch. I was at first taking them after Breakfast and dinner but I found I was waking up at night "tasting" the Vitamin. Yuck!! But now that I take them after breakfast and lunch no problems at night.

I take Trader Joe's high potency chewable Multi-Vitamin. For the first six months or so I took two a day (one in the morning, one at night) but since then just one a day. I've had no problems with it, it's inexpensive, low calorie and low carb. I have my labs drawn regularly and they have always been great.

I take and love Flintstone chewables. They come in 4 different flavors, and are really good to me.

I use the Celebrate Multivitamin, it does particularly taste good, but it is the best that I have found and it is super packed with Vitamins.

! ! Yep yep they are great. I also take in Iron suppliments as well as b complex and Calcium citrate along with vit d. Im at the stage I no longer have to crush pills so this all works for me and I have always take. The Flinstones Vitamins even as a child :) 2 for an adult contain the same as any other multiple Vitamin.

P.s. The nut advises against any of the gummie ones as they often don't do well for sleevers. I didn't try because I didn't want to find out they didn't work for me the hard way. Lol

Try bariatricfusion.com. They have a complete multi with Iron and calcium citrate in them so it's the only one you have to take and you don't have to take additional iron or Vitamin D or anything like that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
