Has anyone true colors have come out since your weight lost?

Recommended Posts

Hi I know there would be changes with myself family and friends but wow, I am truly seeing jealousy with my once thought best friends, they are acting hurt and mad that I have lost weight making statements that I am making them feel insecure with my weight lost and I even had one say it was my fault that her boyfriend and her got into a fight and broke up WTF. I told them all my weight lost is no reflection on them but a reflection on me being healthy there insecurities are their own and their own alone, I am not responsible for other peoples action or ignorants, but I am not apologizing to anyone regarding me being healthy. True friends love you and accept you uncondtional and if they can not accept that then I am better off without them. I guess they feel I am competition to them because I am getting all of the attention and they are not go figure. My husbands just says baby forgot those haters but it hurts that they truly feel this way. But positive speaking I have met new friends at he gym and they are great.

Your best friends are anything but. It,s good you know that now. If it's anything like what I witnessed, they probably felt no threat from you. You actually made them feel better about themselves. But now they are concerned that you might be even thinner and prettier than them and they don't like it. So, stay with your new friends who know you for who you are becoming and leave the others in the dust! Only your husband and them matter anyway. Keep up the work, and stay true to yourself, no one else.

Happy and thin New Year!

Maggie0210 you are so right thank you for your support and kind words, I'm staying focus , learning to enjoy life , and I have ever right to be healthy and make my health a priority to myself and my family because as you stated they are who matter and true friends would understand that and only want the best for me as I for them.

I've lost friends. I've become more passionate about stuff I love. I was mouthy before. lol. but now Im not afraid. Idk what it is. Maybe its because I was the walking mat for so many years and now im changing myself. They didnt like it so I told them to kick rocks. I have more people in my corner than I thought.

I have found my coworkers in my unit are envious of my weight loss. They act like I have been given special treatment or something. I ignore them but I can feel the resentment. Is this normal behavior?

LisaCo yes it is they do not know how to handle your new change, people who I thought were my friends were not, they are now treating me different instead of being happy that I am getting healthy they are haters and blaming me for their insecurities, it was ok that I was the fat one in the group that they had no competition , now they see me as a threat because I am getting so much attention and being notice. Hang in there you will meet new positive people and ignore the stupid ones remember you do not have to apologize to anyone for being healthy.

Samantha Ann you are so right I guess going through life trying not to be noticed and now you are the focus of everyones attention . I agree with your statement I am really vocal now and will not let anyone use me as a doormat. I have the '' in-crowd'' inviting me to their function and including me in things now but I decline, although my body has changed I have not forgotten how they mistreated and ignored me when I was heavier. So I am now enjoying my new friends who like me for me and support my weight loss and dedication for me being healthy.

I've lost only those who never were friends to begin with. That's my perspective.

One lost 95 pounds on her own and I supported her the whole way. Ww, Zumba etc. I gained weight while providing this support

And she couldn't support me in this.

Oh well

Jersrose43 I like your statement that they were never friends in the first place, I am now looking at what our friendships was truly based on and now see it for what it is, she was never truly my best friend I was hers but she was not mine. As you stated above a friend supports one another through thick and thin, not when its convenience or to soot ones self. My weight made her feel better about herself and now that it is gone she does not feel great anymore, her lost.

That's right cupcake. Friendships evolve with us. That she didn't evolve with you is quite telling of who was a friend and who was not

You definitely see who will stick by you during the change of your life. It's heart breaking but at least you know who will be there when times get tough and change happens. Drinking has been an issue for me. I can't go out all night and drink like that anymore and lost many friends because of it. Now it's time to make new friends with the new you and build relationships with your new life style. :)

Fu%# those bit$&es.

:). Weight is a touchy subject. Kinda like politics or abortion. Our instinct is to scream it from the rooftops that we have lost weight and our doing great but it's better I think just to smile and let it be. Remember how much it hurt when you were overweight to see someone else success where you had failed?

Sometimes friends just grow in different directions. It's a hard part of life. I'm sorry your going through this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
