I had surgery on December 15th. Surgery went great and recovery has been awesome. I am starting to notice, not even two weeks after surgery that I can drink liquids faster without any problem. At first, even after small sips, I would burp and it would hurt. But over the past three days, I feel like I can drink more and quicker. Should I be concerned about stretching out my stomach? Will it be different when I begin the pureed foods next week? Thanks in advance for your insight!

I would just advise taking it slow even with liquids. You won't stretch out your stomach, you will just be able to up your intake as you progress because your stomach is healing. My biggest suggestion for when you switch to pureed foods is to only make a tiny bit because it will not take much at all to fill you up.

Hope this was somewhat helpful!

Despite the fact that you can drink faster, you still want to drink slowly. Yes you will feel fuller once you move towards reintroducing food, but you want to still be in the habit of eating slowly so you don't have issues with slimes or vomiting.

I'm feeling this way with Water and lemonade too! But I can definitely feel restriction with Protein shakes! I'm 16 days out, by the way!

I was sleeved 11-4 and as everyone advised it gets better in time. However slower is better. As you progress into the different stages things change and the "restrictive feeling" shows up different or it did for me. My dr also advised that you want to try and stop before you feel the restriction as you will find later on as new foods are introduced the tummy handles things different. I had situations where the restriction "red flag" came while I was chew chew chewing my next bite. If you get this do not swollen the bite! This is the time for learning. So go slow and learn what is best for you :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
