Countrygrrl 450 Posted December 26, 2014 So I'm super stressed out on the 23ed I pulled my groin muscle so bad that I can't sleep or walk. Sitting down and getting up to use the restroom has been a toss of a coin if I'm gonna be able to. So I'm taking muscle relaxer and Vicodin. I'm scheduled in Las Vegas on Monday. Surgery the 32st. I just realized that Vicodin is a nasid! No one is at blossom bariatrics to answer my calls or emails I've been sending. So I don't even know if I should drive the 8 hrs there or not. Anyone have any advice.

Countrygrrl 450 Posted December 26, 2014 I had the pills from last year. And no dr on call :0(
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 26, 2014 When were you going to drive out? I would start calling them at 8am tomorrow and try every 30 minutes until then. Are you going to a hospital or clinic. They should have a main switchboard. Call the number and tell them you need to contact one of the bariatric surgeons ASAP. I would stop the vicodin now and just use a warm compress or heating pad.You may be able to be cleared to still have surgery on Monday.
tomi71 581 Posted December 26, 2014 I had the pills from last year. And no dr on call :0(I would defiantly cease taking them right away especially since they're an old script. Sorry you are in pain. Feel better. ????
Countrygrrl 450 Posted December 27, 2014 I've tried the I'm at a clinic and I will try to make it tonight with out the pain pills. I've broken so many bones in my life and this is worse.
Countrygrrl 450 Posted December 27, 2014 Well I finally talked to my pcp. He said to keep taking the pills this weekend and see him Monday. From what I described I could of done more damage. Then the nail in the coffin. Your test show some irregularities. You will have to see a cardiologist before I sign off on this surgery. I'm a cash client so I've already paid a percentage. And got in on a great deal before the end of the year... Now lord only knows. My other half Is stresses over irregularities and I help by using Redd Foxx's heart attack skit. I know I'm not nice. So big test is to stay on the pre op Diet even though I feel like it may be for not.
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted December 27, 2014 Just saw this thread. Vicodin is NOT an NSAID. It's just hydrocodone and Tylenol (acetaminophen). Neither are NSAIDs.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) The only advice was to inform her team. Edited December 27, 2014 by BLERDgirl

Each dose of Vicodin® ES contains hydrocodone bitartrate 10 mg and acetaminophen 660 mg. The Internet says it is a NSAIDs
HappygoSusan 296 Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) Acetaminophen is Tylenol. Not an NSAID. Your surgeon is the final authority, but that doesn't sound like an NSAID to me. Susan http://www.vicodin.com/ contain two different ingredients: hydrocodone (an opioid pain medicine) and acetaminophen (a non-aspirin pain ... These drugs can cause breathing problems at high doses or in sensitive patients. Edited December 27, 2014 by HappygoSusan
