I had RNY on Dec 9 2014 and have 7- one was the drain, one in my belly button, one is large (inch) and the others tiny. I am not worried about them... Won't ever be in a bikini... Lol. I had 4 from my band 14 years ago, 5 when they took it out, a few extras from removal of gall bladder and these 7 brand new ones.... It's quite a pretty picture- join the dots my hubby says

Since Aug mine are nearly faded away. I don't know if they will be completely gone but they're so faint now I expect I won't mind going around shirtless.

I had RNY, and I have five incisions: four in a row and one above. I just had surgery this week so I haven't seen the size of each incision, but I expect they will be nice complements to the incisions from gall bladder removal in 2012. Those are still visible 3 years after surgery, so I expect mine will never completely disappear but they're not too noticeable.

RNY and 6 incisions. Two that took 5 staples to close, one that took 4 and three that took 2. But I had to have a lot of extra work done due to lots of adhesions.

I am two weeks post op and I had adhesions too, did you loose a lot of blood? I lost a lot and had a transfusion because my hb dropped to 6. I feel great now!

No, I didn't have to have a blood transfusion. My blood counts dropped some, but not to that extent.

I have five after my RNY. My wife jokes that it looks like someone stuck their fingers right into my stomach.

7 incisions for lapband revision to RNY. The one where my port was taken out is a lot bigger. The others are all small, even the one where my drain was.

I use Scarfade gel. I used it on my face after I had shingles. I also have a tendancy to keloid so in addition to the discoloration they end up raised and bumpy. All but the biggest is flat and the discoloration has faded some. I don't expect them to disappear completely because my hysterectomy scars never did. However with some careful TLC they can become less noticeable.

I've always used Vitamen E oil for scars and it works pretty well.

I had gallbladder removed 6 weeks before my RNY on October 2nd, 2014, so I ended up with 12!

My stomach is pretty crazy looking!

But I wouldn't change a THING!

Same here I had gallstones, so I had my gallbladder removed a few months before my RNY surgery. Not crazy about the scars but hopefully in time they will be less noticeable

I had RNY with hernia repair and I have six incisions. I only had my surgery on Tuesday and am still in the hospital. I haven't had a chance to look yet - I'm just going by what the nurses told me.

**Now that I'm home from the hospital, I was able to count and I have 7 incisions.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
