when i push the @message line

the name comes up on my post

but......it doesn't come up correctly frequently

the persons name isn't in a different color

therefore you can't push the line successfully to send a message

or when i write the @@Kindle it doesn't always come up in color either

in other words - people do not always know if they have a message

i hope i said this right, and you understand

@proudgrammy

woo hoo

it didn't work, so you can see what i mean

i didn't use the mention

i put the @with my name

thanx for your help

@@Elode you are doing it correctly

@@HappygoSusan

there is supposed to be a word called "mention" under your weight, starting weight, height that stuff

under your name where you are going to post , many of your stats are posted

ie height, weight, DOS

under all that info would be the word mention

i just went to your name and pushed on the mention button - it came up

@@HappygoSusan

the alternative if you want to specifically want to address someone is to write their name with the @sign in front of their name-no space to be put in after the @ sign - for example @@HappygoSusan

@@Elode lets see what happens

@proudgrammy - @proudgrammy @proudgrammy

editing post after i realized my name didn't come up properly, but everyone elses did :(

i'm starting to pull my short hair out cuz 'm frustrated

does anyone else have this problem

actually, i have noticed other peoples post where the name @@Elode is not highlited

so, i guess i'm not crazy

just confused :(

hopefully alex can help

don't know the code name for alex

its not simply Alex

@@proudgrammy Yep, I got 3 "mention" notifications! I usually go back and check previous post because some people will be Talking to me but they don't do the "mention" so I don't see it.

I knew about the "@" thing, but I don't see a member notification on my ap. it doesn't look like the "@" thing is working here, since your name didn't change colors.

thanx guys for your info :)

i don't understand what happens to my "blue" popup sometimes :(

there are times i will see someone else posts correctly with the @persons name

but it shows up in black (not blue <_< ) - so you can't push it and alert that person

but who knows

maybe i had one too many spiked eggnog ;)

oh well guys

thanx for your help :)

hope you both had a beautiful christmas :)

happy friday :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
