Pain in band area after eating

Recommended Posts

I first got my band at 17 years old, and it's sure given me a hell of a time. I had a slippage about a year later and was puking so much that I ended up with pnemonia and a lung abscess because I inhaled some vomit during my sleep. If that sounds disgusting, it was even worse to experience. I ended up getting the band replaced and have had pretty good luck with it, I never vomit anymore, however, it's not nearly as tight as it used to be.

For a while now though, I have been experiencing some soreness around the band area after I eat. I generally "cheat" a little bit during meals by drinking fluids with the meal, and something tells me it might have something to do with that. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to be drinking fluids during meals, but I'm a 20 year old college guy and sometimes you just gotta EAT. I told my doctor about the pain and he did not seem concerned. He even filled me up with .25cc of Fluid. After this miniscule fill up, the pain began to get even worse to the point where its no longer just an inconvenient feeling, its serious pain. It feels similar to heartburn but is definitely not, and it can generally be soothed with cold Water but it still worries me. Generally when these things happen to me it means my body is trying to tell me something. Should I be worried?

Thanks, I look forward to reading the responses.

I think you should listen to your body. It might be serious it might not. Either way get it checked
