sukik 59 Posted December 25, 2014 I'm 2 month's post op. Went to New York over Christmas. I had a terrible time eating out. I my son took me out for lobster which I thought would be fine. I. Felt sick for nearly two hours. Will it always be like this? He doesn't know about the surgery so it was really difficult. Advice please?
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted December 25, 2014 I'm 3 months out and still having a tough time too. I had a tiny piece of turkey and a little mac and cheese for Christmas dinner and threw it all up and felt horrible. Sometimes I can eat something and the next time I try, it makes me sick. Cin's Awesome Sauce 13 Posted December 25, 2014 I'm also 3months as of the 24th and I am really having a hard time eating.. There are days i can tolerate chicken then they next time I vomit.. It gets frustrating sometimes.. I've lost 53 pounds, but I think it's because I throw up a lot.. I have an appt on 1/8 maybe the doctor can help me figure this out.. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 25, 2014 So far I'm not having any difficulties eating out. I would suggest that when you eat out you keep the food simple. Baked chicken, steamed lobster, etc... You may have to ask the wait staff to tell the chef limits seasonings. Heavier foods like mac & cheese may be too challenging.
IcanMakeit 1,318 Posted December 25, 2014 I eat out often, but when I do I generally stick to baked or grilled chicken or fish. Or if the food is wet cooked, I make sure it isn't too fatty. Although my sleeve is very forgiving, I try not to challenge it too much.
