Ladies and gentlemen, I have been having a problem with frothing that has finally come up about 8 weeks after surgery. I have a friend that also had this problem, and was told to drink something hot about 20 minutes before I eat anything and it will dissolve it. I am having a hard time with that because I LOVE my coffee and cant drink it without so sort of sweetener in it, I have found a sugar free Creamer that I really like that doesn't bother my stomach, is there a sugar substitute that you all use that would be good, for when I run out of creamer on one of my crazy busy days. I have tried stevia in the raw and it doesn't seem to bother me, any other suggestions would be great

I'm not sure what you are asking. Couldn't you just drink a bit of hot Water? I thought frothing came from eating too fast. Have you tried eating slower?

no frothing is from the slime that build up in your stomach, so I usually drink something warm about 20 min before, I wish I could just do hot Water but that water in my town has to much fluoride in it and makes me sick, hot or not

I am not sure what you mean but foamies as they are regularly called by the WLS community are caused by eating too fast and not chewing enough. Also overfilling will cause a slime like saliva to coat your esophagus because as food gets stuck at the opening of esophagus it causes a protective reaction in the form of slime. This is true for both Bypass and sleeve. Are you drinking too much at one sitting? Consider lingering with your cup of coffee.

My favorite sweetener is Nectresse. It's Monk Fruit and hard to find.

What are you doing for Water now? Do you buy bottled?

I've never experienced foamies or frothing.

I don't use artificial sweeteners because I am allergic. On the few occasions I have coffee or tea I still use either organic sugar or raw honey. I just don't use a lot of it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
