peki31 37 Posted December 24, 2014 I was sleeved on 12/12/14. Right from the beginning I had no problem drinking Water or Protein Shakes (though I hate them). I had to force myself to sip because I would forget. I never felt any kind of restriction or full feeling. When I started purees a few days ago...still no restriction. Today I made the ricotta bake. I ate about a tablespoon and a teaspoon of whitefish salad and I felt stuffed and uncomfortable and happy. It was absolutely delicious. I was starting to think that the surgery didn't go as it should have. Just had to tell someone who would understand.

ready2livenow 19 Posted December 24, 2014 I'm 6 days out and will be on liquids until the 30th. I thought I was the only one that didn't feel restriction. (did the surgeon forget to take out my 80 percent of my stomach?!) lol. I'm looking forward to food so I can feel some sort of restriction. Glad I'm not the only one! a new begining 1 Posted December 24, 2014 My surgery was also 12/12/14 and I feel no restriction and have the same concerns, that it will not work for me, I really hope the restriction comes with the solid food!
peki31 37 Posted December 24, 2014 It's a scary feeling after going through all this. Now I've been stalled already for the last 4 days.
LightlyMyDarling 5 Posted December 26, 2014 Were you sleeved or did you get the Lap-Band? Just curious as your profile tags say Lap-Band. Either way, I hear you on the restriction! I was sleeved on Dec. 9 and have zero issues with nausea, vomiting, or restriction with liquids or Protein. When I started soft foods I felt it more and I was so happy to know that it's working! peki31 37 Posted December 29, 2014 I had a sleeve. I should change that Lap-Band thing since I never had it. That just shows how long I've been considering getting WLS...lol. I am still not feeling the restriction with all soft foods. I did go to a restaurant twice this weekend. At Japanese I had some Miso Soup broth (had the whole bowl) and ordered seared tuna for dinner. I had about 3 slices, then I was full. We went to an italian seafood place yesterday. I ordered a cup cream of crab and ate about 4 teaspoons, then had a few bites of orange roughy and I could barely breath. My MIL was with us and automatically said that she was worried because it too little food. You really notice how much more you used to eat while watching how others still eat. ready2livenow 19 Posted December 29, 2014 I went to a Vietnamese restaurant last night (first time at a restaurant since being sleeved) and had some veggie Pho. I only drank the broth and brought home the left overs for when I can eat them (I froze them). I did notice how much people can though. Like the won ton appetizers on the table, and then spring rolls and then the amount of Pho other people could put away. I don't have much restriction when it comes to liquid, but i still tried to keep my consumption under control.
