Taking off a week....

Recommended Posts

I have been working out faithfully 5 days a week since I came home from the hospital June 19th, only missing a day when it couldn't be help. I have decided to take off next week from the gym. I'm just tired and need a break. (I am sure guilt will probably get the best of me at some point and I will probably go anyway though). Anyone else just tired of working out and need a break?

actually might be really helpful. a break every once in a while is a good thing for your routine. don't feel guilty at all. 5 days a week is awesome.

That is awesome! I am excited to be cleared for more exercise- I have been walking since surgery though. I know if it were me, taking a whole week off would make it super hard to get back in the groove again. I would have to do like 2 weeks of every other day or something so I didn't get out of the routine. Enjoy the break, you've done aweome!

I have those days where I feel like I'm worn out and lose interest. I have found that mixing the routine up a bit helps curb those feelings. I can only lift weights or run on the damn treadmill for so many days, but I seem to stay interested in things like the insanity work outs longer. Might be something to try. Happy holidays!

Doesn't hurt as long as you pick it back up.

I'm off this week for medical purposes. Going back to the gym on Friday.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
