Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to checking out My Fitness Pal - I've been tracking manually up until now. My intake today is pretty representative of what I normally eat. I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow, and I was wondering if this looks normal for this point? Too much, too little?

Calories: 578 (actually 623 once I add in the Calcium chews)

Carbs: 51

Fat: 13

Protein: 63

Sodium: 1806

Sugar: 23

And I need to get another 8 oz of Fluid yet to make 64 today, but I've got a cup of tea in the microwave now. I think I can make it :).

I couldn't get my first follow up appointment with the nutritionist until 1/20, so I'm just trying to follow the papers we got until I can get in there.

Hey! I am 5 weeks out today. I get to see a nutritionist about the same time you do - so I am following my papers as well. My fitness pal is great, but it does tell me I eat too little - ha ha. Here are my numbers from yesterday.

Calories 611

Carbs 42

Fat 19

Protein 72

Sodium 1316

Sugar 18

I am usually under 600 calories, so if my calculations are correct then we should both be ok.

I am ready to see the nutritionist and be told do this and have sample meals given to me - not that I could eat a meal, just a 4 bite plan I guess!

Maybe someone who knows the real deal will tell us.

Thanks! I'm still trying to break the "spoonful of sugar" habit in my morning tea, so I'm waiting for that to bite me. I can drink it all day long without any, but the first one just won't go down any other way.

I love that MFP message, by the way. Not something I ever expected to see in life.

Just my two cents but I think your carbs look kind of high for just starting off and for the amount of calories you're consuming but I'm sure you'll do great!

My nut has always said about 30 percent of calories. I think at 50 grams in a 600 calorie diet it would exceed that mark. I'm not claiming to be a pro but looking back at 4 weeks out my calories were at 700ish with 75 grams Protein and 25 to 30 carbs. I'm up to 850 or 900 calories 5.5 months out with carbs of 35ish.

I had applesauce this afternoon - I just started adding fruit back in, so that might account for the carbs. I didn't feel so great afterwards even though it was sugar free, so that might be something I don't do again for a while.

I think both menus looks fine. I try to keep my carbs around 40-50 but I don't sweat it since they almost all come from complex carbs like veg and Beans. Are either of you exercising? I find I can go a little higher in carbs on my workout days. I'm at 3 mths and my nutritionist still wants me to stay under 800 calories.

I am exercising everyday- I am ready to see a nutritionist!!! I have not seen one yet- or not since my required visits before approval. Why mine doc is making me wait until January - I do not know.

I'm just walking for now, but getting anxious to get back into the gym. Still not sure when I'll be allowed to do that, though!

My NUT says not to worry about counting carbs. She said as long as I'm eating according to plan and getting my Protein in that's all that matters. The only carbs I get are from Beans, small amount of veggies, or the occasional serving of fruit. My average is 30-40 per day but I don't really pay much attention to it.

I eat about 600-800 calories a day and I make a point to keep my carbs at 33 grams or below. I read some where that you shouldn't consume more than 33 grams of carb per meal so I figured if I keep it under 33 for the entire day, I would be in good shape.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
