Juicing low carb veggies?

Recommended Posts

Hey! I was just wondering if any of you Sleevers out there ever juice?

I am 3.5 weeks out and have been craving vegetables like crazy, and was wondering if any of you have juiced and added Protein Powder to it?

I find it more convenient to drink Protein during work and thought this would be a good alternative to pre made shakes.

Thank you

Sheena :-)

I prefer nutra bullet or similar products. When you juice you loose all that Fiber which is one of the benefits of fruits and veg. To me without the fiber all that natural sugar you are drinking in isn't worth it.

I haven't had surgery yet but do prefer vegessential post-177010-14193000924407_thumb.jpg

It's great with almond milk and a banana. I blend it all in my vitamix

27g of Protein and 6-8 servings of veggies

Thank you Vineeta!

I emailed Carla today and she said I could juice as long as it was mostly veggies and to be careful what ones I chose based on how gassy they make me! So as long as I mix Protein powder in there I can have a juice a day! Yippeeee!

How are you doing? ? Did you get a date yet my friend??

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
