Hang in there, things will get better. I had RNY surgery 19 months ago and it was difficult at the beginning. It took me 6 months to get to my happy state.

I am also five days out. Surgery was in Dec. 17. I had a bad day on Thursday but I know we can do this. It is hard but will be worth it! My husband keeps telling me I have to be positive! I think it's normal to be down though.

LindaGsjourney, I was sleeved 12/17. I'm struggling to get enough of everything in. It's like there's not enough room! Hopefully the feeling of being cold now, the cranky, out-of-sorts feelings, gas and all will pass soon. I wish I could find a variety pack Protein sampler, though! Sigh! Rant over . . . for now.

My nutritionist said not to worry if you can't get it all in. It's something to shoot for but it takes time. It shouldn't be uncomfortable.

In the beginning just 2 tblsp of liquid per hour is all I could do.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
