BobbieVSG 51 Posted December 21, 2014 So tomorrow I'm 11 weeks post-op vsg and I'm only down 33lbs, I'm seeing people loosing a lot more and my surgery was before them. I know we shouldn't compare but it's so hard not to. I don't know where I'm going wrong. Any opinions would be appreciated.
blissfulbeing 84 Posted December 21, 2014 That's 11 pounds a month.. Seems pretty great to me. It depends on how much you have to lose, your starting point, and if you're following your doctor's orders as far as food goes.
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted December 21, 2014 I've lost 31lbs in 12 weeks so I'm right there with you. Once I got past my 3 week stall, I have consistently lost 1-3 pounds a week so I've made peace with it. It really bothered me at first but it's not doing me any good to be constantly frustrated. My doctor said they expect me to lose 4-6 pounds a month and I'm exceeding that goal right now. Kindle 8,667 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) You're probably not doing anything wrong. Took me 3 months to lose 30 pounds and I was thrilled. Relax and enjoy the journey. Protein, veggies, Water and vitamins...that's all you need to concentrate on right now. Stay off the scale and measure your success with NSV's. athena3127 199 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) I don't think that you realize that actually calculates to be a little over .00029762 lbs per min! Have you stopped to calculate? That alone can put things into an entirely new perspective. I mean based on that information alone you were still a looser even while you were snuggled sleeping soundly or just up walking the hall in your fuzzy slippers! so turn your thoughts with a positive spin. You went from zero to .00029762min with surgery that my friend is amazing. There are those who would envy being in your shoes. I'm sure there are some who may have a higher average just like cars they are all made different and performance levels are all different. So are we. There are so many variables that effect weight loss post surgery that you shouldn't ever focus on anything other than the positive. Your a looser! So keep it up your doing great considering the time of year when around every corner I'm sure you see candy canes and gum drops so keep focused and stay on track. Next stop skinny town! ProjectMe 909 Posted December 22, 2014 Why ask a bunch of strangers if you should be proud? This is about you. Would you have been happy with this weight loss prior to surgery? I bet, yes. Why wouldn't you be proud of your accomplishments after the fact? No one can give you permission to feel proud of yourself. You feel proud because you did it and are continuing to do it. Own it & be kind to yourself.
BobbieVSG 51 Posted January 5, 2015 Thank you to everyone who replied, at the time I was just seeing the negatives, I was being silly. All off your posts helped me to realize that. I appreciate it! I'm seeing the changes everyday, I've gone from a UK size 26 to a 18.. That should be encouragement enough really Once again, thank you all.
