Pants size

Recommended Posts

I've been enjoying my pants size drop and I'm wondering what size I'll be at when I hit my goal weight. I'm 5'10" and my goal weight is 165. My pants size has already gone from a 48 to a 38 and with each new size I buy one pair of cheap pants. I can do this because I'm retired and don't have to go out every day. If you have an idea let me know.

Well I took my pants up myself. I sew some but I literally just pulled 4 inches up and sewed straight down. I wear most of my shirts out so it was ok for a while. I had to buy new tops because when I started having them fall off my shoulder it looked...well a little trashy. LOL I think you are probably going to be smaller than you can guess. I am amazed at how many inches have come off with the amount of weight I have lost. Also I think in my case, I am only 5 months out and my shape keeps changing. I lose in one area for a while and then another area for a little while. Might be hard to guess what size. Hope it goes well for you.

I went from a 52" waist to a 34" waist. I was going through sizes like crazy so I learned to shop second hand stores, like the Salvation Army.

That's a good idea...

I just bought a pair of 32x30 jeans, and a pair of 33x30 khakis. I'm down around 70lbs, and have a big bag of 44 and 40's to drop off at Salvation Army. I haven't worn a 32 waist in 27 years! I don't think I'll go below a 32, my hips are very boney now. Still have some loose skin and a little fat to lose in my stomach, but it's above my waist. At 196 as of this morning, shooting for 165, but tell everyone my goal is 175, even my wife says I'm too thin already. In my mind, I'm still a fat kid. Does that ever change?

I remember being 150 back when I was younger and my waist was a 31. But mostly because I am big boned and even then my hip bones were bony and wide so pushing 30 was too much. Think it depends on frame and body structure. Big booty or string bean shape.

I'm also a fan of the Salvation Army and Goodwill. Usually pants are no more than $4 each, and often much less. I get myself a few pairs in my current size (currently 38, down from 48), and a couple in the next size down, to use to try on in the future, especially when the scale stops moving.

In high school, when I was at my peak of fitness, I wore a 34 waist. I'm about 6'3", and I weighed about 210 at that time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
