DrewM 2 Posted December 21, 2014 I was sleeved on 15 Dec and so far I love it - except for today. Basically around mid morning I got terrible gut cramps and have had diarrhea all day. It's just stained liquid at this stage. I get it with everything I consume- my Protein Shakes, mushroom Soup, pumpkin soup and custard. My surgeon is now on holidays so I can't call him. Any ideas? PokeyJo 47 Posted December 21, 2014 It sounds like something is not agreeing with you. I found out once I was eating soft foods after surgery I could no longer tolerate eggs. It was sudden and painful. Back off what you're eating and add the items in one at a time. In the meantime, you can dehydrate very quickly from diarrhea. Make sure you keep your Water intake at maximum level and watch for other signs of dehydration. If in doubt - call the surgeon's office. Even if he/she is on vacation - there should be a back up or the service could contact him/her in an emergency.
DrewM 2 Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks. All I had to set it off was three sips of my Protein Shake (no lumps) and Water. But is has settled now. Thanks again
SmashMouth88 23 Posted December 26, 2014 I had my surgery on Oct 15th, and I had diarrhea for about the first 5 weeks (same with my mom). Make sure you're taking a daily probiotic, it really helps believe it or not.. I notice when I don't take it because I'll either have diarrhea or I won't go at all, there's really no in between for me. Good luck though!

holliwood1980 143 Posted December 27, 2014 I am in the same boat! I was sleeved 12/18 and since 2 days post op I have had the same problem every day!! The doctor said it's because I am only on liquids still. It's aggravating, but I will be on to mushies soon!!
iamkiki 1 Posted December 27, 2014 I've had the same problem, but have come to the conclusion that I have developed the dreaded lactose intolerance. As long as I avoid any milk, I'm ok.
