Krispiekreme 22 Posted December 21, 2014 6 months since surgery, but had nausea if I ate solid foods, especially meats. Had EGD, they found my stomach was shaped like a horseshoe instead of a banana. So had stent placed last Tuesday, I was great in the hospital. But now only fluids, constant pain and bloating. Take pain meds every 4 hrs, and have to sleep in upright position. I only keep it for 14 days, but I am just worried that this won't work, I should have just done nothing and lived with the nausea.

Krispiekreme 22 Posted December 30, 2014 Thank you for ur prayers! Now on the 31st I get the stent removed, hopefully it straightened my stomach out and I can eat without nausea or pain! This sure has been an experience. Thank you again!
Ava324 413 Posted January 2, 2015 I had persistent painful stomach spasms even 10 months after surgery. A barium swallow showed that my sleeve curved similarly. During my EGD they also saw acid in my esophagus and that my pylorus was super tight. They dilated my sleeve to straighten the bend and dilated my pylorus too. I've felt very mild spasms a handful of times since, but not nearly bad enough to grab my stomach and vocalize, which used to be daily. I hope they're able to resolve your pains as well!! swimbikerun 1,046 Posted January 3, 2015 @@Ava324 did they give you any reason for that? I sort of like to know these things because if it is a freak occurance, that is one thing, but if you hear of several of it, it might be an issue. I do believe I've read somewhere (so do not quote me on this, don't know if it is research or one of boards) that there is a sewing technique that can be done to help stop kinks. Krispiekreme 22 Posted January 3, 2015 So far no more spasms or pain since stent came out! What a relief! Haven't noticed too much difference in the ability to eat yet, guess stomach is still swollen after procedure. That is very interesting on that sewing technique that u mentioned, makes sense. Hopefully I am on my way to recovery and can enjoy life again real soon!
