1 week post op... can consume more than anticipated?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Wondering if I could get some advice / help?

New to the site and from Australia.

I am a week out of surgery and am concerned as I don't seem to be having issues that others have alluded to.

I can drink a generous amount of Water without too much pain and don't experience the 'full' feeling that I hear about.

Is there something wrong, am I doing it wrong?

For example, I was able to drink 450mls of water in 20 mins this afternoon with no ill effects...

Has anyone else experienced this?

You may have to force yourself to slow down. It's not a good habit to get into. You may be able to get down a generous amount of Water, but food may be a different story and if you aren't used to eating and drinking slowly it could cause problems.

Hi BLERDgirl,

Thanks for your response. You're probably right, so I'll slow it down.

I only discovered it as I'm still trying to learn what my 'new' stomach can and can't handle and at the moment it appears to handle more liquid than I thought or was told it would.

I can get in 60-75 ml in 20 minutes. Maybe 100 if I break it up. I'd ask your surgeon's office.
