Dragon Mom 0 Posted December 20, 2014 Hi. I just had my RNY on Monday of this week. In recovery and the next day, I had unbearable back spasms. My surgeon said that it was from the hiatal hernia repair. They were finally able to get it under control with different pain meds. It was much better Wed. I hope you are able to get relief soon! maggie0210 117 Posted December 20, 2014 I would keep an eye on it this weekend. If it gets better you will be fine. But if it's still bothering you or gets worse by Monday, make sure to call your surgeons office first thing. Don't put up with any debilitating pain. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
